I went through a bunch of music last night rating songs. The category was what I call Lounge Music. So it comes as no surprise that I would wake up with one of those songs in my head. This song is on the Nude Dimensions: Vol 1 CD. I really like the beat the vocals are mesmerizing to me; I have this song rated at four stars. I like this kind of music, especially at night. It is up-beat and gets the body moving. As far as the video goes, there is no actual video, not even album art. But, I include it so that if you are interested you can at least listen to the song. Someday I hope I can figure out how to make my own videos for those times that I can't find a good one to post, but then I would also need the time to do so. |
I wake up with a song in my head almost every morning. Usually it is a song that it in my iTunes library, but not always. I intend to blog these songs and whatever else is on my mind when I wake up.

Stormtrooper - Pepper
I haven't heard this song in a while; so don't know why it was in my head this morning as I rolled out of bed. I got this song and 2 others off this album from my son. I kind of like what I'm hearing. Seems kind of like Raggae to me. I have often thought about getting the CD and maybe some others by Pepper. I think I actually used this song once for the music to a slideshow that I put together of a bunch of climbing photos when my son and I use to climb. Worked out pretty good. I had a hard time finding a good video. I finally settled for the one below just for the audio; really not a video at all. |

Ride - Boney James
Nice relaxing song to wake up to. No reason except maybe I had a good relaxing sleep and feel a bit more at peace with the world this morning. I've enjoyed the CD. So much so that I've included three of the tracks (including this one) on a special playlist that I created for my wife a few years ago. The video is just the sound track with the album cover. Enjoy. |

The Thrill Is Gone - BB King & Gary Moore
I came across this video today. Really great song and video. Enjoy!
Angel Of Harlem - U2
Another song off the Rattle & Hum album. Not sure why this song came to mind, but then I rarely do.
Here is a live video.
Here is another.

Tell Me All About It - Natalie Cole
This song came to the top of my list this morning as I got out of bed. A really nice song to have going through my head as I get out of bed on a Sunday morning. The song and her voice just makes me melt. How could any one not tell her all about it. There are some advantages to holding out for a little bit, but in the end, you are going to tell her all about it. |
Here is a remix that is more dance oriented; pretty nice remix if you ask me, but no video.
Another shorter version of the above that they are calling a Chicago version.

I'd Like To Get To Know You - Spanky and Our Gang
Not what I was expecting at all this morning when I finally got out of bed. Interesting what songs run through my head.

Desire - U2
Had this song in my head all day. I wonder what's on my mind? It's not Las Vegas or gambling. I'm surprised I couldn't find any better videos for this song.
Yes, desire. It is something that I think about quite often and something that I think is quite important. Like spouses having desire for one another. And then there is the problem/question of some one having desire for some one else. It is something felt and plays on the mind; it manifest itself over time; it isn't something that just happens. Sure, sometimes things just happen, but when there is desire involved it didn't just happen; it was wanted; it was planned; it was desired. For me, I really make a distinction about desire, almost obsessively. |

I Like Big Butts - Sir Mix-A-Lot
I debated whether to post this or not. I mean, who admits to listening to this song? I figured making a post was the only way to get this song out of my head. I admit, there are times when I like to listen to this song. After all, butts are part of the total package and some butts are truly beautiful. I sure wonder how some women can shake theirs so violently? It's interesting. But what is more interesting is the elegance what some women display when they walk. It seems to take just the right size and roundness which makes such a sensual display from behind. Truly beautiful I say. But, sad to say, some women got it and some women don't. Thankfully my wife's got it. BTW, she doesn't like this song.
The below video says it's official. Who knows?
Another song that my wife doesn't really like, The Thong Song by Sisqo. I figured I may as well get these songs out of the way. Here's the video.

Sierra Nevada - Chuck Loeb
This isn't really the song I woke up with, but it will have to do. It is off the same CD. I woke up with As Is this morning which is sort of a similar song.
I believe my wife and I saw Chuck Loeb live at a jazz festival in Destin, FL, around 2002, but it could have been later. Nice show and nice music, especially if you like smooth jazz which we do. I've included a video for your listening pleasure; it's just audio. |

Girl From Ipanema - Stan Getz/Astrud Gilberto
This song was a big surprise to be in my head at 5:30 this morning. It's a timeless song; a song that puts a smile on one's face; a song that is comforting. Ah... the girl from Ipanema.
Tall and tan and young and lovely The girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah When she walks, she's like a samba That swings so cool and sways so gentle That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh (Ooh) But I watch her so sadly How can I tell her I love her Yes I would give my heart gladly But each day, when she walks to the sea She looks straight ahead, not at me Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely The girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, I smile - but she doesn't see (doesn't see) (She just doesn't see, she never sees me...) |
Just a slide show, but this is the version in my music library.
A performance video.
Another video
How about a Fly Me To The Moon video for an extra treat?

Fast Car - Tracy Chapman
This song has been in my head for days. It's another song off the playlist I like to ride rollers to. I always thought this song was about a fast car and going somewhere; I never really paid much attention to the lyrics; I just knew I liked the song.
The lyrics are actually kind of sad telling a story about wanting to go somewhere and be some one with the person you love. It doesn't look like it quite works out that way. But, honestly, how many people really end up later in life where they thought they would. I know I haven't, but I keep hoping. |
