Dream Lover - Marshall Tucker Band

I woke up this morning at 4am, never could go back to sleep. I had a Marshall Tucker song in my head. I couldn't remember the name of it so I searched my iTunes library listening to each song. I never found the song that was in my head; in fact, I couldn't remember what was in my head to start with. So, I settled on this song; what else could wake me up at 4am?

Push And Pull - Nikka Costa

This song has been on my mind the last few days. It is on the Blow soundtrack. I thought the movie was good, very sad in the end for a romantic like myself. The song is simple but really grows on me as I listen. Reminds me of how great life is when you are on the peaks. But the lows can be so low. It is the memory of the highs that can help pull you up from the lows.

Picture - Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow

I have no idea why this song is in my head this morning. Alarm goes off, I open my eyes, boom... this song is in my head. It is the only Kid Rock song I have in my iTunes library; the same for Sheryl Crow. That might have to change. Anyway, I like the song and I think it is a good duet.

On The Road Again - Willie Nelson

Continuing with the Honeysuckle Rose theme as this song is on the CD. Yesterday I went for a bike ride and this song went through my head. This morning at 3am I had a different song (can't remember what it was), but when the alarm went off this morning this song popped in my head.

Loving You Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again)

Another song from Honeysuckle Rose. It's really a nice duet with Willie Nelson and Dyan Cannon. Can you feel the love? A good duet is a pleasure to listen to and watch; it can cause you to put yourself there with that special someone.

I'm really not a big fan of country music, but it might appear otherwise with all these posts lately featuring music from Honeysuckle Rose. The movie hit a chord with me years ago and it has stuck.

These songs are performed by Willie Nelson. What is interesting is that this one and the one below were written by Kris Kristofferson. It seems that credit normally goes to the recording artist and few know who the writer was. Kris has many hits that are sung and performed by other artist. He is a great song writer; he just can't sing worth a hoot. I really appreciate Kris's song writing skills and I'm sure many a recording artist does too. Willie Nelson actually recorded an album of nothing but Kristofferson songs which was a commercial success.

This video has low volume audio, so you might have to turn the volume up to hear.

While on the subject of duets and Honeysuckle Rose, how about this with Willie and Amy Irving, You Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine. This video comes from the movie. You'll have to watch the movie to see what happens next. This sceen comes before yesterday's post and why Buck has got some explaining to do.

Two Sides To Every Every Story - Honeysuckle Rose

Another clip from Honeysuckle Rose, Two Sides to Every Story. Yesterday I was listening to some of the songs on the soundtrack so I guess that's why it was in my head this morning when I woke up. Like I said before, I really like that movie.

Sure there are two sides, but unless you can defend and explain yours, then my side is right and your side is wrong. The wrong doer should figure out why they did what they did, and the victim deserves an explanation.

Yep, Buck has got some explaining to do.

Deja Vu - Crosby, Still, Nash & Young

A few things have happened lately that makes me feel Deja Vu'. This song slowly crept into my mind this morning. Doing a search on YouTube returned several results. I decided to post three. The first is the album version, the one most of us have heard before, no video, just album art. The 2nd is a video from a 1991 acoustic concert, nicely done. The 3rd is the official video done recently; it wasn't quite what I expected as it is a war protest. The video is done very well and makes sense. The funny thing is I don't even have this song in my iTunes library. I need to fix that.

A Song For You - Leon Russell/Willie Nelson

This isn't really the song I woke up with. I woke up with Angel Eyes, but I decided on this song instead because I was having trouble getting a good video. I really like this song a lot. I have two versions here. I like Willie Nelson's version, especially the one in the movie Honeysuckle Rose (I really liked that movie).

These videos are old. It is really interesting to see these artist in their younger years. This song was written by Leon Russell.

Here is a link to an old Willie Nelson video. I couldn't embed the video.
