Benny and the Jets - Elton John

Strange that I would wake up with this song. When I was still in high school I use to hang out at the local surf shop. I can remember this song from then from the Yellow Brick Road album which is actually on my Amazon wish list. That album was played a lot back then at the surf shop. I once saw Elton John at a concert in Mobile, AL. It was actually a good concert.

Homebird Sing - Foy Vance

This song was in my head at 3am this morning. I actually woke up with I Hate Everyone, but I've been waking up with that song in my head for several mornings now. I'm not crazy about that song and even less so with the message; I want to love everyone, not hate everyone.

So, Homebird Sing it is. This is on the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack Vol. 2 CD.

Sun Comes Up - John Legend

Definitely a pattern here. This song has actually been in my head for days. Just a nice beat and the message is upbeat too. I really need the upbeat message. Yesterday while riding my bike this song was totally on my mind; really helped me to keep those pedals turning. Starting to run out of different videos to post of this song.

Falling Or Flying - Grace Potter & The Nocturnals

Wow. Twice in one week and the week is just half over. Is there some hidden meaning here? Am I lost and don't know it? Do I need to live everyday like it's my last? If nothing else, I'm trying to find different videos to post. There's no doubt it could be worse; it could be a terrible song repeating in my head; I actually like this song.

Sun Comes Up - John Legend

I wonder if there is a pattern here. This song made the first blog entry. Maybe it is just a good get up out of bed and get going song.

I Hate Everyone - Get Set Go

What a song to wake up to. NO, I don't hate everyone, and NO I don't hate you either. It's just a song, and I guess some days one just wakes up this way. Things haven't really been going my way lately, maybe that's why this song crept in. BTW, this song is on the Grey's Anatomy Vol. 2 CD; at least that's how I know about it.

The video is just lyrics. There was a Youtube video shot in Bellingham that I almost used, but the audio wasn't very good.

Falling Or Flying - Grace Potter & The Nocturnals

It was bound to happen, I woke up with a song in my head that I already blogged about. Not really sure what to do about it. Blog it anyway or not blog?

Well, the weekend is over and all the races too. My legs and body are sore. While I didn't put in outstanding performances I did learn that I still have a sprint and I learned other race lessons too.

The Pensacola Bicycle Classic was successful and I'm really looking forward to it next year with more determination to put in better performances.

Being tired, maybe today's song is appropriate.

Southbound - Allman Brothers

It's race day number two. Today will be the criterium race of the Pensacola Cycling Classic in downtown Pensacola. This morning's song is a surprise to me. I think I did hear this song a couple of days ago which would explain why I woke up with this song in my head. A good beat and a fast rhythm; I sure hope that's the way my race goes, lots of high energy for me.

No video, just music and cover art. There's dead time at the end; somebody didn't trim this video before posting.

Falling Or Flying - Grace Potter & The Nocturnals

It took a little while to sort this one out in my head this morning. Today is race day for the Pensacola Bicycle Classic. I would have liked something more up-beat, but this song is reflecting my mood and outlook this morning.

Are we falling or flying,
Are we living or dying?

Interesting that this song too is on the Grey's Anatomy Vol. 3 CD; that's 3 songs of the 5 post I've done so far including this one. That CD has been popular in my head lately even though I haven't really listened to that much. Great song.

The video has a short interview before the song performance.

You'll Never Find - Lou Rawls

This song was first in my head a few weeks ago. It wasn't in my music library, so I downloaded from Amazon. Great song even if it is old, simply classic. Well it was in my head again this morning, not what I was expecting.

Young Folks - Peter, Bjorn & John

This song has been in my head for a couple weeks. I first heard it on the Grey's Anatomy Vol. 3 soundtrack CD. I hardly ever listened to Vol. 3 as on the playlist I had the songs in sequential order starting with Vol. 1. Then I cleaned up the playlist to delete songs I didn't like. Then the iPod was on shuffle. I was amazed at the songs that played that I hadn't really heard before, this song being one of them. Shuffle can be a good thing.

When Doves Cry - Prince

I have no idea why this song was in my head when I woke up, but it was. Believe it or not it was hard to find a decent video on YouTube; this one is just a still photo with the music so it loads pretty fast. I don't like much of Prince's music, but I did enjoy the movie Purple Rain from which I first heard this song.

Sun Comes Up - John Legend

This song is so appropriate for the first entry. There are other YouTube videos, but I thought it more appropriate to use one featuring Grey's Anatomy as that is the soundtrack I heard the song from.
