We Got By - Al Jarreau

Happy 26th Anniversary That's right, it's our 26th wedding anniversary. I was trying to figure out what song to post. I decided that I would pick a song off of a playlist that I created for my wife a few years back. There are several songs on the playlist by Al Jarreau and they are all off the Tenderness CD and this is one of those songs. I always find this song very touching. In the early years of our marriage we didn't have much; I was a student. I didn't worry very much about it. We got by... As the years went on we got more comfortable. We did more than just get by. Lately times have been very tough. We are truly struggling. But, we are getting by. Happy Anniversary!

Staring At The Sun - The Offspring

There were many songs going through my head this morning as I was waking up. When I finally got up this is the song that came to the top. The only time I listen to this song is when I'm riding my bicycle on the rollers. It is unbelievable how fast I can spin and keep spinning while listening to this song. I think this is a really good song for workouts.

Shake Your Tailfeather - Ray Charles

When I was riding the rollers the other night I was listening to a Blues Brothers playlist. I've had Blues Brothers tunes in my head ever since. This song is on the Definitive Collection CD. I'll be one of the first to admit that one needs to be in the mood to listen to Blues Brothers. It worked out pretty good for me the other night riding rollers. How about Ray's Music Exchange from the Blues Brothers movie? A great clip to remember.

Dry Spell - Pepper

Thanks to a roller session last night on my bike I woke up with this song in my head. Not too much else to say about it. I do enjoy listening to Pepper, at least the songs that I have in my iTunes library. I don't know why, but I haven't had much music in my head lately. It could be because I quit smoking and I'm not a happy person lately. In fact, I've been a pretty angry person lately. There is no doubt in my mind that smoking is a drug. Is She Really Going Out With Him - Joe Jackson

Woke up this morning with this song in my head. It took me quite a while to figure who the artist was; it's been a while. I haven't been myself the last couple of weeks and there hasn't been much music in my head when I wake up. Hopefully it will come back. I once saw Joe Jackson that the Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO. That was a cool place to watch a show. It would be nice to go back a catch another live show there.

Red Headed Woman - Bruce Springsteen

I woke up at three this morning with this song in my head. I rode the rollers last night and this song was one of the songs that I listened during my workout. This song actually has special meaning to me. I'm surprised it hasn't come up before now. I admit it; I am quite partial to red headed women. So much so that I married one. In fact, I don't think I would consider anything but a true red head. There is something special about red heads; they've got some extra fire, but it must be respected in order to realize any benefit. But of course, that's just me. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.

Change The World - Eric Clapton

It's been a LONG time since I've heard this song, but it was in my head this morning so I'm posting it. I have several Eric Clapton CD's, but the only CD I have that has this song is from the soundtrack to the movie Phenomenon; so that is what I've put as a link on the left side of this post. After reviewing the lyrics I'm starting to see a pattern over the last few days; it's all about love, unrealized love. If I could reach the stars, I'd pull one down for you. Shine it on my heart, So you could see the truth. That this love I have inside, Is everything it seems. But for now I find, It's only in my dreams.
